Good afternoon. I was told about your site by someone who committed on the USS Canberra fb page. My Dad, Robert H Dunn, served aboard USS Canberra from Jan. 20th, 1960 to Oct. 12th 1962. He was a Gunners mate. I'm doing sojme research in his career during his travels aboard USS Canberra. I have his DD214, His Golden Shell Back. I also have his DD217N when served aboard USS Independence after Graduation from 1955 to 1959 as SR.If any of his shipmates remembers my Dad and can offer any information I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you all for your Service and Dedication to Our Great Country. I hope to hear from someone soon.
Sincerely,
Robert H Dunn Jr.

My grandfather was a Seaman Second Class and working on the engine room. He left to get geedunk from the ships store just before the torpedo hit. I owe my existence to this little twist of fate amongst an awful tragedy. I proudly served for 10+ years. To all who read, I wish you only the very best!
